Afghanistan's Agony

With the disputed Parlimentary elections and the United States and NATO involvement in the war scheduled to wind down by the end of 2014 with the phased transfer of security to the Afghan government, no one believes this to be a fully attainable goal and it is obvious that there will be a long-term role beyond 2014 by NATO and United States troops. In this report by Franco Pagetti we present an overview of the situation in Afghanistan as it stands today. It is obvious that much work lies ahead and that this war now heading to it's tenth year is far from over.
